Ford parts replacement under waranty?
My '05 is at the dealer for the first time(for me) ,and happens to be in the second to last month of the 5yrs/100k warranty. I'm at 77k miles. It was running rough on cold start and very low power till up to temp, also light white smoke and building like 20 PSI boost after warm @ speed unloaded.(no programmer). Dealer was to change the EGR and egr cooler.
My question is: what is covered by the 100K warranty exactly related to this repair? They are also trying to charge me to ''clean out the EGR passages'' , to flush the cooling system and for another oil change,(brought it to them with a new oil and fuel filter service JUST performed (all FORD filters). Friend of mine (who went thru all this in the past) is telling me that there charging me for all these services that should be part of the EGR repairs ( and they should also be replacing the OIL COOLER while in there).
Just wondering if there is a certain protocol in what parts need to be replaced together in a certain group? If so how do I get the dealer to replace the oil cooler before I have to pay to have it all done again once warranty is up and it takes a dump?
