COLD MISSFIRE

OK FOR THE FIRST 10 MINUTES THE TRUCK IS NOT FIRING NUM 4 CYLINDER AND ONCE WARMED UP RUNS GREAT.TRUCK HAS 119K ON IT BUT ALWAYS GOOD WITH THE OIL. WHO THINKS INJECTOR???

Also just moved it and noticed for thew first time at an idle when i start it its pouring out black smoke!!!!! any ideas????

It's the injector! I had the same exact problem on the same cylinder, when I replaced the injector it ran awesome. The injectors have two "stages" a cold "stage" (which seems to go out a lot on these) and a warm "stage". So that's why it misses until it's warmed up. Then to make it run even better if you haven't yet get the cold weather reflash.

I agree it very well could be the injector but!!!!!!! A buddy of mine was having problems with his 04 running like crap when cold I was missing and then fine when it was warm I told him to put a bottle of seafoam in the fuel and he did it's been running perfect for the last three weeks! I kind of wander if he didn't free something up with the seafoam it'd be worth a shot?

All what additive in fuel does is clean the injector tip. So unless the tip was dirty I cant see the sea form doing anymore than that. Mine truck was doing this and it was a injector. Cold miss fire then when warm ran great. Took 4 or 5 months for it to totally go out. There is some stuff out there called hot shots secret and it goes into you oil. Which will clean the insides of your injector well you oil is. Since they run off of oil pressure this is suppose to clean up most injector sticking problems. A few say it works great. I just bought some and get it tommorow. You have to run it for a 1000 miles so I post back on here how it works. My truck runs fine but want to clean up the other injectors to try and make them last longer.

yea hit the road we need results lol im going to get the new flash tommarro my truck starts ruff and misses for a sec then clears up hope it works just kinda bummed bout having to get new tunes

You sure you'll need new tunes? I got re-flashed about 3 weeks ago and Vivian said I could use my current tunes so I did

my tuner is eric idk wouldnt my strategy be diffrent tho
