ideling at 1100 RPM's

My dad's 6.0 is ideling at about 1100 rpm's and wont drop back down
any idea's what might cause this?

Whats the temp outside? They do idle up to 1100 when it is cold out. once it warms up it should go back down to base idle. Also if you have temp sensor's problems it might do this.

the truck is warm and the temp is about 55* out

My dad was being an old and lookin at the tac wrong
so nothing was wrong.
