Howdy, I'm new here and new to Powerstrokes. I bought my 03 F350 several months ago. I changed all the filters and oil as soon as I got the truck and within a few days it turned into an absolute dog, no power and missing. I changed the oil again to T6 5w40 and that fixed my problem. Also along the way I put in 2 new batteries, an alternator, cleaned the EGR valve and the turbo.
About a month ago I noticed the truck seemed to be starting to act up again but not bad, just a little hesitation sometimes. Yesterday with the truck at normal running temp it started running rough and blowing blue smoke on acceleration. It doesn't appear to smoke at idle.
My scan gauge readings for the FICM are:
FVP ranges from 13-14 volts but goes to 12 on startup for just a second.
FMP ranges from 47-48.5 volts but does not change on startup.
I'm probably due for an oil change so I was going to do T6 and Rev-X to see if that helped. It fixed my problem last time but I wasn't getting smoke last time either.
Could this be stiction or is it worse. Could it be electrical? I'm doubting it because of the FICM readings unless the 14 volt FVP is a problem.
There seems to be so many possible problems that can cause the same basic symptoms that I would be much obliged if someone with more 6.0 experience could chime in with some thoughts.
