03 6.0L start up idle speed / smoke / injectors.

When I cold (sitting overnight, air temp doesnt matter) start my engine the idle speed stays normal for a minute or so. Later it decides to bump itself up a couple notches. I assume to warm up the engine. Why, on a cold start, would it not be reverse with the high idle and then slow down when warm? It does slow down if I depress the brake or put it in gear. Is this behavior normal?

3 weeks ago I went in for service due to blue smoke and rough idle on cold (sitting overnight) starts. The dealer said they replaced my injectors. Is this related to above? I still get a puff of smoke every morning but the idle is never rough. Is this normal?

Thanks

that is pretty much normal....the high idle will not kick in untill the PCM knows it is a true idle...if you take off without an idle...then it is not needed and that is why it waits......as far as the little bit of smoke......you may have another injector tha is failing...but if it is not causing ANY KIND of a rough idle concern...even for a few seconds....i would not even worry bout it......Marc
