Connect a scan tool and pull codes, glow plugs are good on setting codes when they are bad, sounds like you might have an injector or your fuel injector control module (FICM) at fault... GOOD LUCK

I live in South Louisiana and its been in the 30s and 40s down here and my truck was doing the same thing. I know a few mechanics at the Ford dealership down here so I called the up and brought my truck in. They hooked it up to the computer and told me that it was the (FICM) fuel injecter ****rol module. The FICM should put out 46 to 48 volts which is not a big range, but if it does not you Know the rest. Down here it was about 800 for the part and 4 hours labor. The truck runs great again, starts up fine and getting a little better fuel millage.

Next oil change, try using motorcraft 15w-40 and a motorcraft filter. Midway Ford service manager here in KC told me to try that when I had a starting problem and I have had no problems since.

And he told me to get the oil and filter at Walmart. best prices......
