In-frame ring replacement

So, after my less than impressive track outing yesterday I am debating some serious R & R. The amount of blowby on my cranke vent indicates I have no piston rings left at all...

I have looked through threads for almost an hr now and cannot find anyone trying this.
Has anyone done rings with the block in the frame and cab on?
If you can get the heads off, I would think I could get the pistons and rods out and back in without lifting the cab.

Anyone have any input here?

ok, here was my thaught.
pull the heads and everything above. drop the pan, open the rods and pull the pistons and upper rods out the top. thus having to pull the pan. I don't spend a lot of time under there, but it looked doable. Just throwing ideas out there.
