2004 6.0 has no low end power
Hi everybody,
I have never seen a diesel act like mine is.It has no power at all until about 3000 rpm's and then it comes on like a freight train. When i bought the truck it had been rolled and while i was rebuilding it i would have the move it in and out of the garage once in a while and the only exhaust that was on it was the turbo down pipe so you could really hear the turbo.I think it had a aftermarket exhaust on it and they took it off when they wrecked it.And then one day i started it and no more turbo noise.I have changed the air filter, ebp sensor, vgt valve, and i put on a 4 inch exhaust and i am waiting for my new egr valve i have ordered but i dont think it will help but i know it's not working.I have pulled off the intake tube and the turbo spins nice and free also.Has anyone ever seen this before. Thanks in advance. |

It's pretty rough when i first start it but calms down in a couple minutes.I was told by someone else that the vanes my be sticking but they didn't no how you went about freeing them up.I dont have any codes for it yet but if this doesn't do the trick i will go get it checked. Thanks for the help.I'll give it a try.

RUNNING GREAT NOW ,Worked on the turbo most of the day to try and free up the vains and my egr valve came in also. When i put everything back together it was running the same as it had been but after about 15 min or so it started to come to life. The truck runs better than i could have ever imagined. It may still be freeing up the turbo vains but now when you let off the throttle you can hear a poping noise from the turbo like the tractor pulls (hope it doesnt hurt anything).I also want to thank mschn99 for his advice and i hope i can help some of you sometime. Thanks again |
