So where does Fords computer get oil temp
I have a 04 6.0 in a F-350 and a 04 F-150 with each showing an oil temperature reading out range. The 6.0 thinks it is 3500 deg. the 5.4 triton thinks it is 52,650 deg. So we go to buy new sensors and find that there is no oil temp sensor according to 3 aftermarket venders and 2 Ford dealerships.
So what and where is the computer getting the readings from. My guess is the pressure sensor is a multi function sensor. |

Oil Temp Sender
On the 6.0L PSD there is an oil temp sender on the top of the engine, near your engine oil filter housing. It should be close to your turbo oil feed tube. The electrical portion of the sender should be grey in color (is on mine, at least) and race-track oval in shape.
