As @junior125 said, a picture would help immensely.
That said... I'm expecting that you caved one of the lower corners in a bit. Heat exchangers of this design are fairly fragile on the inside. At a minimum, I would pressurize water on the coolant side to see if it comes out the oil side. ...and - even if it didn't - I'd be concerned to use it.
I do not have a picture. im kinda in a bind and gotta get it goin. The bottom was fine but a series of unfortunate events dented in the side near the bottom maybe 1/32 to a 1/16 of an inch if that Deep. And maybe 3/8 of an inch long on the side near the bottom
I plugged both sides at a time and blew into it with my mouth I didn't feel any pressure relief. I plugged the oil side up and ran some water thru it with a garden hose. No water in the other side
So I don't entirely understand. Coolant goes in one side and oil in the other. Do they intertwine inside the cooler anywhere or just in their own sides?
I got it started and ran her up to temp and flushed the coolant a few times. Seems alright to me. No disgusting milkshakes
