IMO way easier to fix up the 6.0. if you swap engines, you have to also swap, trans, engine harness, wiring, instrument cluster, body harness, brake systems, power steering systems, etc etc,

It would be a nightmare if you did not have the proper tools, shop, and associated wiring diagrams, plus and intimate working knowledge of the both the 6.0 and 7.3 engine/driveline systems.

cool deal man thats all i needed to know. i think im just goin to pick up my pride an get to be good friends with the ole 6.0. If im gona keep that motor im gona buy the diagnostic stuff for my laptop, i cant afford to pay 80 bucks every time i need to read codes or do diagnostic work.

on another note i pulled that #8 glow plug has oil or fuel all over it again..... im gona order the presure tester, leak down tester and the adapter next week sometime.

like the always say if you cant beat them, join them!

get the auto enginuity setup with the ford add-on package. It's all you'll need. Are you using any oil between changes??

ive only put abou 8k or 9k miles on the truck since i bought it in march and have only had to do one oil change. Im about due for one soon though. Ive been checking the oil every day and its been ok. when i came in earlier from workin on the glow plug i smelled a faint hint of fuel. I dont know if it is possible, but could an injector be dumping that much extra fuel?? Where do you get the auto enginuity gear?
