runs like crap

we have a 05 F550 wrecker at work that runs like crap, what i mean is the thing wont get out of its own way when its cold, when it warms up it runs alot better but still has a defined "miss" in it, i've read somewhere that the FICM is the culprit most likely but where is the damn thing? i replaced a turbo on the thing about a month ago after teh seals started leaking. The high pressure oil pump was also done just before that, even though it didnt need it but the hero said it needed one and it ended up being the frame pump. The truck only has 61000 mile on it and we are about at wits end with the thing. Have had ford reflash the PCM and all on it about 2 months ago, seemed to help somewhat.

what kind of boost are you seeing with it? Could be the FICM (thats that silver box directly above the driver side valve cover.) Have you check your EGR valve? Does the truck idle a lot? Could be plugged intake/egr system.

You can check the FICM Voltages to determine it it's bad.

the truck does not idle much at all, we plugged teh egr or bypassed it with a kit but i didnt do it so i cant say much about how it was done, it makes about 22lbs of boost accordiing to the factory boost gauge

FICM_L: should read 11.0 to 12.0 volts at key-on/engine-off and remain steady while you crank the engine.

FICM_M: should read 47.5 to 48.0 volts at key-on/engine-off and remain steady while you crank the engine.

FICM_V: should read 11.0 to 12.0 volts at key-on/engine-off and remain steady while you crank the engine.

everything with teh ficm seems fine, i did change out the I guess its the pcm on the fender with one off a harley edition and that bastard would run, even though its a 8500 lb wrecker it felt good idled good and all, but i had to swap it back onto the truck i borrowed it off of, so we ordered one off a 06 harley edition and put it on there and it does a little better but i guess the one we borrowed had a program in it,

is the miss gone? Have you checked your HPOP pressures, and base fuel pressures?

well we had a new hpop put on about 5000 miles ago, ended up not the problem that caused it to die, it was the frame rail pump, so its new too,
