Poor Mileage

I'm pulling a 14000# 5th wheel and getting 9mpg while friends with Dodge Cummings and GM duramax claim they get 14mpg pulling the same load. I only get about 17mpg empty. Any suggestions?

your mileage sounds about right for a 6.0 I get 10-11 mpg pulling a 9000lb 30ft fifth wheel, piggy backing 9000lb fifth and 4000lb 16ft flatbed I get 9-10 mpg empty on the highway I get 17-18 mpg

Those cummins and d-maxs are prolly stretchin the truth a lil..... i think your doiin fine... i get 18-19 empty and about 10 with 10k load (40ft enclosed gooseneck)

I agree my neighbor has a 07 6.7 cummins he pulls a 7500lb 28ft fifth wheel he says he lucky to get 12mpg pulling and 18-20 empty
