6.O Injector Test?
Ok...Iam am 1st going to be honest and say I didnt know what I was buying when I purched my 250 new in 2005. I just needed somthing to pull my 8,500# boat around occasionally. I neglected service intervals. I used fuel from questionable sources. And I only changed my fuel filters when a miss occured. Ok now that I have clensed my conchence here is my problem. Last miss I detected I changed fuel filters and it didnt clear up. So I added some fuel injector cleaner and it cleared up a noticable improvement but it started bucking, cold hard starts a few days later. I added more fuel injector cleaner loaded my boat and ran for about two hours never regained power continued bucking and missing. Next day No start. I pulled no codes . I did the baloon test and noticed no pulse or compression gasses of any amount on eather bank. I have removed all 8 injectors. Orings look ok, bottom fat oring ring has white discoloring on all 8. Bottom brass washer is frozen/locked on the bottom of all 8. Black carbon build up on the inside of the brass ring around the shaft of the tip.Question (probably a stupid one) Any way to check a 6.0 fuel injector before I waste $ 1,800.00 on a reman set? I have spent a couple of weeks educating myself on my truck.I truly regret my past treatment of my vehicle. I have repented and am dedicated to changing my ways. Seriously I have learned alot from this site and really appreciate you guys sharing your knowledge. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Bucking could also be a sign of VGT turbo sticking. If you don't drive the truck much, it may be this. I would also check the turbo.

How do I check the turbo? And would the turbo stickin clear up when fuel injector cleaner is added? Any thoughts about how to bench test 6.0 injector?

I have 130k on my 2005 250. I usually drive it 100 miles a day 2 or 3 times a week.

You need a Ford IDS or similar diagnostic equipment to command the vanes to open and close. It could cause the bucking you describe. When was the last time you cleaned your EGR valve?

Diesel Technician Society you would need proprietary equipment that only and injection shop would have to "bench test" a 6.0 injector. You need 3000 psi oil pressure, 50 psi fuel pressure, and 42 volts, plus an injector base to mount the injector in. your best bet would be to find a local shop that can test them, or search online. Here is one company that provides testing services for PsD injectors. GCL Diesel Injection Service - Bench Tests |

I did a search on the EGR cleaning. Looks pretty simple. I dont think my egr is bad but it couldnt hurt to take care of this while I am under the hood with wrenches in my hand.
