EGR valve question

The guys at the only Ford Dealership I trust said my EGR valve is stuck closed. Is it better to be stuck closed or open? The guy at the dealership it could cause turbo problems, Can it? Will it cause me to lose a headgasket if it's left closed? I am going to replace it (and eventually buy a delete kit), just not right this minute.

EDIT: Also, who has a Part number for an 03 egr Valve?

Thanks in Advance

if they stay shut then it wont open. opening releases the gases back through. so stuck shut is good for the most part.

I have a egr valve if you want that was replaced with about 1k miles on it and then i deleted the whole egr system.

or just take it out and spray it with some brake clean and try to loosen it up and put it back in. if the valve inside moves then it isnt bad after cleaning it
