No power until 3000 rpm

Hi, I have a 2004 F-350 dually. No power until you get to 3000 rpm and the wastegate(?) makes a bunch of noise. Changed the IAT sensor and it helped for a little while (couple of pushes on the pedal) then went back to no power. After 3000 rpm it kicks and goes much better. No trouble codes coming up but I did have a code of turbo/supercharger underboost before we cleaned the IAT sensor.

First off,
Second, your 04 Diesel (6.0 liter) Does not have a wastegate. It has a variable geometry turbo. Someone else will be along to help you a little better than I can. It sounds like a VGT issue, like it is not making boost down low.

Thanks, husband doesn't do diesels. LOL. Trying to figure out whats wrong. From all the threads I have been reading it seems like it could be a few things. EGR, VGT, etc. Hope someone can help me. I pull a big ol' horse trailer and need this truck to work!
