EGR Bypass
Guys please help me im new to this and have got alot of mixed reviews.
I have a 2004 f250 and the egr cooler is bad and I heard that you can bypass this cooler with a kit. If so where can I get this kit and is it worth the money. Has anyone done this and if so what are the results. thanks so much guys for the help |

thanks man you just dont know. How much and how much is a egr cooler from ford

they call it a sneeky pipe. most of the performance dealers should carry one, like innovative diesel, or elite diesel. check with popular vendors here u may gat a better price.

Factory cooler is about $400.
This is the kit I recommend First Coast Diesel Performance -- Your Source For Powerstroke Performance |

I am a certified powerstroke technician. Let me say that an egr cooler delete is not a good idea. The reason for the cooler is that it cools the combustion process off by almost 700 degrees. The new coolers come with stronger welds in the cooling tubes. I have installed dozens upon dozens of these new updated coolers with excellent results. The one thing i can recommend to you is this: Replace your cooler with a new one from ford and gut your converter. Gutting the cat will drop exhaust gas temps by 300 degrees and will make it dramatically easier on the new cooler. And by the way, ford sells a coolant called Ford Motorcraft Gold extended life coolant. This is wht you want to run in your psd. Its an excellent coolant for keeping all coolant related parts clean and is the best to use for preventing cavitation.

I have 80,000 on my 06 and I am running corso exhaust with AFE air intake and an Edge controller. The head gaskets have failed and I am replacing the head bolts with the ARP studs and a EGR bypass kit. My question is I have been told that once I install the bypass kit I will get a service code from the egr sensor. Is there a way to reprogram the computer to remove the egr sensor?
