Another no start 6.0 help
First alittle back story since i have had the truck(2 years) i always thought it was a slow start when it was hot, not hot as in running hot but when sitting out in the sun all day, but when its cold it fires like right now. About 2 months ago the problem seemed to get worst and stayed that way until yesterday when i jumped in the rig in the morning the truck had a really hard time starting and would act like it was going to die, then run fine, act like it was going to die, run fine and then was fine all the way into work(3 miles) drove it home for lunch did the same thing, the whole time smoking out of the tail pipe. Then same thing on the way home from work. Today i jump in and it cranked and cranked and didnt even act like its going to fire. Cleaned egr valve, and noticed im not building oil pressure on the intrument cluster during attempted start. Checked and no codes on my sct and im getting fuel and air. next would be hpop? Dont know how to check or where else to go from here

If you're getting fuel into the cylinders (white smoke while cranking), then you probably don't have a high pressure oil problem. I suspect that you are not getting fuel due to HPOP problems. Perhaps the pump is leaking internally, or you have a bad IPR valve.
Where do you live? |

If you have access to an IDS see if someone can watch the IPR values while you are cranking. The 05's have been known to have issues with the SCT fittings between the HPOP and the oil rails in the heads.
