noise while acc. dec.

i have a 04 f250 with 27,000 miles, it runs fine but recently it started making a noise that sounds like a tone or chirp during acc. & dec. i took it to dealer when i first heard it & they heard it but couldn't find what was causing problem. i have a superchips tuner & you can hear it more when the tuning is installed, anybody else had the same problem?

yep it sounds like a flute. try loosening your coolant bottle cap and see if the noise goes away. it sounds like excessive pressure relieving from the coolant tank cap. hopefully it isn't your head gaskets and just coolant flashing / steaming from the advanced timing elevating the pressure. if the noise goes away after loosening the cap, remove the performance tune returning the vehicle back to stock. go by your local ford stealership and purchase another $8.00 cap and see if the noise is still present with the stock tune. if not, i recommend looking into a different performance tune.

took my truck to dealer & just got word that they have head gaskets ordered for it, mechanic said he just finished putting headgaskets & egr cooler on another truck, seems like ford would have some sort of recall addressing the problem.

I had 10,000 miles on my 06 and I had new heads and head gaskets installed.
And I was burping coolant out of my filler tank.But it only happend when I had my banks system turned on.It put enough boost in the silinders to lift the head and simulate blown head gaskets.Now it did not do this in stock mode because there was not enough boost.So I had to find a tech that would throw me a bone and he did a great job all under warranty.And yes he is on this sight.I had to drive 6hrs to get it to him but it saved me about 6 grand.
