2004 6.0 Vibration/Low Power/Loping

Unfortun. I was drawn to this site by troubleshooting my POS 6.0. Here we go.
I got a 2004 4x4, 4 door, SB, 6.0 turd. Last night while returning from work the truck developed a vibration with a loss of power. The loss of power in cruising at normal speeds and acceleration from a stop. I can be driving 65 mph and it has low power and vibration. If I floor it the vibration goes away and a little bit of the power comes back. From a dead stop with the truck idling is sounds like a hot rod with a big cam in it. The MPG are still there. The vibration is def coming from the motor. When I pop the hood it seems to be louder. No usual smoke of any color. I had thought maybe I possibly got bad diesel in Bakersfield but I drove all the way to Barstow before the problem started. The check engine light never came on. This is a 4 month old remanned motor from Ford but I wanted to see if its something small because they have already recvd $15,786.00 from me for the new crap motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds almost the same as the problem I am having except while mine is at an idle, all sound fine....

also, when I floor it on the highway, when my vibration disappears, I get a cloud of black smoke out of the exhaust.... Do you also get the smoke when you floor it?

Thanks,
Ken

I dropped it off at Lovely Team Ford in Las Vegas. Of coarse they only have guy that can R and R parts. No real mechanics there and they can not find a problem. So they are stuck with it until they come up with something. $89 bucks an hour they charge and they have no mechanic that can trouble shoot. I am in the wrong business I guess.

Take it back to whoever put the engine in. Doesn't sound like that dealer is the one that installed it as they don't sound capable. Have you tried changing fuel filters and fuel to see if maybe it was bad diesel? It could be trash that is starving the engine and it took a while for it to cake up the filters.

I was taken to the Ford Dealer for the motor. Fuel filters were just changed, oil is with in time frame to change. I emptied the tank and refilled.

I had the same problem back in december when my #2 & 4 injector went out. It caused the engine to be unbalanced.
So it would eventually die. Now the vibration has returned. So not sure until I take it in monday.
