all good valid points. hmm... i guess i will just do the egr delete and test the FICM and go from there. so dont bother on the o-rings then? Not even with 115k miles on the truck? They never fail???

ok so we got the egr deleted and put it all back together. Took it down to the dealer and had a new FICM put in it. It fired right up but now it runs like crap. basically it takes an unusually long time to build boost and it idles funny etc. just doesn't run right. It will only boost up to 20psi max and that's about it. It is driveable but again its just not right. we called the dealer and asked them if the even programmed the thing and they said yes but it sure doesn't seem like it. Any other ideas??? Its was programmed at stock when we picked it up and it would barely even build boost period and you could hardly drive it. So i programmed it with the sniper and what i said above is where we are at now. so it runs like 10x better with the sniper program but still isnt right. Thanks guyz

i know the feeling of frustration you are having. Got to be something simple.
My sister had a tempo that would quit on her and she would have it taken to the garage only to have it returned after repair with the same problem. She spent a bundle on that car without success. She finally told me and i took it to the dealer agin but still same problem. She learned to live with the problem cause if you waited a couple of hours after it quit it would then run fine for maybe a day or a month before doing it again. Finally, after a couple of years of this i had her take it to my friends garage again and whalla, a TSB from Ford listing a recall on the computer module for this same problem. She wrote ford and because she had all her reciepts they agreed to reinburse her for most of the money she had spent except for towing trying to solve this problem.
These things can be frustrating. We are all praying someone comes up with a fix for you
