corroded fuel tank??

We are having a problem with a F450 PSD at work. It's a 2006 6.0, auto with 60,000 miles, the injectors have been replaced once, the egr twice and egr cooler? once. Now the injectors seem to be going again and the dealer says it's not the injectors but the fuel tank is shot, something has corroded the inside and debris is in the fuel system. They will not warranty. Up until now there has been nothing noted in the filters when changed. All service work of any kind has been done at the dealer All fuel is purchased from namebrand stations. We seem to think it's a bunch of lies. Has anyone had fuel tank problems like this????? After the last computer updates the problems seemed to start.

Fuel tanks

We have had massive problems with the steel tanks on the 650 and 750's but I havent seen any corrosion issues with the 550's or smaller. Where are you located?

ive replaced two steel tanks in 450/550 chassis for corrosion...i beleave there is even a TSB or SSM on it.... The rust flakes will plug up the fuel pickup and cause low fuel pressure...which can also take out injectors...

Is this a problem because of bad tanks or water in the fuel????

Ford is having a problem with there steel tanks. The internal lining is coming off and getting in the fuel lines thus causing problems. If you suspect anything wrong with your 6.0L go to this site because it probably has the fix for any problem you have. 6.0 PowerStroke bulletins

99-06 F-SuperDuty Lack of Power/Low Fuel Pressure:
Some vehicles with steel fuel tanks may exhibit the above conditions due to the lining/sealer inside the fuel tank coming delaminated and plugging the pickup screen or fuel filter, or damaging the fuel pump. It is suspected that using gasolines or additives containing ethanol, methanol, ketones, or biodiesels higher than 5% is causing this to occur. Broadcast Message 5076.
I have seen this occur in an Econoline that filled from various fuel stations, so in this case fuel should not have been a cause.
