hub question and help would be great

Ok i have a 2006 f350 4x4 with the 6.0 i get a shake only when braking around 40 and above grown to live with it ,know my abs light came on code reads c1155 left speed sensor looked around people say replace hub. Is it possible that the hub is also causing my shake and can a hub go bad without making any sounds. And if it helps there timken hubs on the truck. I dont really want to spend $400 or so if i dont need to. Thanks for the help
