Rear end possible posi issue

First off I know next to nothing on rear ends. I have a 03 f350 when I power brake the truck in drive I only get one wheel to spin. Is this normal with a posi or are the clutches in the rear shot ?

Our trucks came with limited slips, and they're not the best. It's common to have one wheel peel even when the clutches are "good."

they can be rebuilt with out messing with the ring and pinion settings

also if it has to much friction modifier it will effect the clutch grab

Iam not a big fan of the one wheel peel. Debating how to go about eliminating it. Do I try to change the clutches or go for a locker

It'll be less expensive to repair the factory limited slip, but eventually the clutches will wear out again and you'll be doing the same job over. I went with a TruTrac partially because of that (no clutches to wear out). The other reason was that the TruTrac will outperform the limited slip all day, every day.

Personally I prefer the True Trac up front and a Detroit Soft Loc in back as I've found under some icy conditions that a True Trac can unexpectedly do a one wheel spin.

You can always change the oil in it. Look at what's left in the pumpkin as far as metal shavings, if it looks good may be like zman said just too much slip modifier in the oil.

If you want big time posi-traction aftermarket is what you want.
