4X4 light on need help!
My 4X4 dash light is on, yet the switch is off. I unpluged the tranfer case just in case it wanted to actually go in while driving. Anyone have any idea why its doing this?

Mine was on as well. I couldn't figure it out. But I hit a set of railroad tracks in 2wd today with the 4x4 light on. Guess what hitting those tracks at 70mph got the light to go off. ![]() I stopped put the truck in 4wheeldrive and it worked. Switched it back to 2wd and the light went back off. So I don't know what causes it. But if happens again I know how to fix it.

i havnt dealt with this issue on a superduty yet, but on the f-150 they have a switch on the transfer case which can get sticky and cause the light to be on, or prevent the gem from engaging the front axle. Or it will short out causing the light to be on all the time.
