10.50 Gear Problem

I switched my 3.73 gears to 4.56 on the LSD and I'm trying to set up the pinion shims and carrier shims and the pinion is hitting the carrier case. I'M trying to find out what I'm doing wrong here any helps is welcome.

The pinion bearings have a slight press fit even without the crush sleeve installed. So you may not have the pinion seated all the way. Sometimes people will buy a setup bearing to get your correct gear mesh pattern. Once you get that set then that's when they put on the bearing that's going to be in service. But the setup bearing isn't necessary, just makes it a bit easier.

Do you know what the pre-load is on the pinion nut?

After everything is set up and the final torque down is done with the crush sleeve its somewhere between 15-20in/lbs of rotational resistance iirc.
