Best way to install inner axle seals?

I've attempted and failed at hammering in the inner seals at the front diff. Should I lube up the edges first? Is there a special trick to doing this? I've just been using a driver and hammer and tapping but they always get ****ed sideways and warp em to hell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's the only way. The only thing I could could think is maybe the seals they keep giving you are not the right ones. Just a fuzz too big???
