If anyone ever comes across this post, It was a cap at the end of the slip yoke (inside the front shaft). Somehow it came loose and was rolling around in the drive shaft tube.
I was able to get the local drive shaft repair place to cut it open, weld the cap back in place and weld the slip yoke back on.
Wow. Never heard of that problem. Thanks for posting the resolution. Many folks never do.
