Is it the turbo???

Hey guys. After installing the bulletproof kit on my 04 it has been weak like the turbo is not spooling but it is building boost on the intake side for sure because when letting off the throttle it feeds back through the breather. It has 4" turbo back straight on it and the exhaust has no "noise" to it. It's like it's just moving air. Friday it began to get a little better and had some power back to it for about 10 miles and it got weak again. After sitting for a couple of hours it seemed to have a little power back until warm again (not overheating eot around 210*). It just doesn't make any sense to me!!!!!! HELP

Maybe you didn't torqued enough a hose, or the blue boot broke.

Do you have any way to check the pressure readings from the MAP and EBP?

Sounds like turbo vanes are stuck open. Did you clean out the turbo at all while apart?

If your running a tune with egr delete your gonna have some bad compressor surge. I just put mine back to stock after rebuilding turbo and swapping with a mtw wheel and it doesnt fart anymore but if i slap a tune on it, it does it all the time.

Yes I definately agree with ps_lane01 ....in the fact that the 6.0l is just not really made to be altered like the 7.3. They are designed to be left alone with factory parts. Anyway it could be a variety of things, The first thing you need to do is have someone check for check engine codes. YES you may not have the light on but there may be a code or 2 stored in the computer that will assist you. At this point it could be a sieged turbo to some bad sensor. How many miles on your truck? Have you ever serviced your turbo? Have someone pull the codes and post back here!

Mine did the same thing around 200K yanked and reconditioned the turbo and now when she fires up you can hear the turbo spool up. Sounds like a jet engine! Very inexpensive to do $10 - $20 and to be honest with you it's probably something that needs to be done every other year or so!
