Different rear end in dually

I was wondering if anyone has ever put in a different gear stack in the rear to either help with fuel econ or for towing purposes. I currently have 410 rear in my 05 dually. And towing sometiing mayb 5 times a year and only a few thousand lb loads at most. But now ive currently started daily driving mine and fuel ecom isnt the greatest ~12-13 on a great tank. I know putting loger gear ratio for highway driving would help out loads. My question is has anyone ever done this or does everyone always just deal with it
