Unhappy F250 gals truck is still broken

Need to vent here...

So I had the front end break on my 05 F250, it was in the shop for a month, yesterday they called said it was done. I drove the 40 miles to pick it up, drove into town a little ways, checked the right front, and noticed what appeared to be fluid in the wheel well.... Drove to the house, in town, and cranked the wheel only to find a brake fluid leak. OH, and on the way I had also been hearing a bearing making noise. Now I used to work on cars, and it has been many years (20) but that noise is pretty easy to hear. SO. I called FORD, told them to keep my mechanic there for a few more minutes, since it was now 445pm. I drove back they gave my truck to the mechanic, he fixed the brake fluid leak, cleaned off the backing plate, and drove out of the dealership to listen to the truck. He came back in about four or five minutes and said "There's a bad bearing in there, we'll have to order it, go ahead and drive it till the part comes in"

I didnt agree with this thinking but drove the truck home and now it is parked in my driveway instead of their lot.

On a positive note, now I get to drive my husbands F350 with a banks in it

I am hopefull ordering THIS part wont take another MONTH!!!

Sorry the thread is so long, sad in Santa Ynez, Norma

Shoot, sorry Norma.
I'm with you on their logic but you should be fine until it comes in and at least your rig isn't sitting on the lot. Here in Houston you couldn't IMAGINE the stories I've heard about what happens when people leave their vehicles at the dealer. But this IS Houston, it's probably not that way everywhere.
Hey once they fix it you need to tell your husband to hook ya up! Nothing warms a ladies heart like a 6-gun for her rig!

Thanks for your support.

I got home today and my husband wants me to go get the loaner car back. SO....I will be cruising in the little ford focus for awhile longer. Might as well, since I already put it on my insurance....I will keep you posted on the BEARING issue...

Yeah Frank's right - and you knew it too like you said in your initial post. If it IS just a bearing you'd probably be fine but - why? We pay too much for these things to limp around and hope nothing else gets messed up. Plus what if that's not the actual problem and something gets screwed up even worse by driving it.
Hey but if you put a coffee can over the muffler of that focus you'll be a HUGE hit with the ricer crowd!

Just kidding - Sorry Norma I had to!

Please keep us posted on whats going on with your rig though.

I know what you mean by being lower than everybody else. I hate getting in a car after riding in a truck. Just makes me feel so little and unsafe. But then I get back in the truck and jump for joy (sorry just had to use that cool little blue dude). Hope you get it sorted out. Besides what would you do if some punk in one of those ricers wanted to whip you in your "big, slow, clunky, diesel?" You wouldn't be able to slap em up side the head.
I agree with 'slinger though. Maybe hint around at a christmas present

You know what you need to do Norma is tell the dealer you need a truck to drive while you're waiting. If they say no just say "ok but I hope you don't mind my strapping my Suzuki LTZ400 to the top of the Focus".

When they first gave me that FOCUS I said "how do you think she'll do in the sand" The service guy laughed. Well, the Focus did ok in the sand, since I was camping at the time.....teehee.

Yeah, strapping a quad to the roof would be quite a site, might have to put one up there and take a picture.....

Totally with ya on the being lower than everyone!!!! Can't stand it and sure as heck don't feel safe!

I hope it is just a simple bearing. If it is though, he shouldn't need to ORDER it.... I'm sure there are plenty of bearing distributors in your area. And if it's going to take too long Norma, get me the part #. (Purchasing is what I do)
