Changed rear end fluid

Had my mechanic change both my front and rear ends, as well as my transfer case fluid. He texts me and tells me there was about a half inch of metal material on the magnetic drain plug in the rear end....He thinks my clutch packs might be on there way out. He also said that the new fluid might help with new friction modifier. Question is, do I get a true-trac ? Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
