P0500 Code

Went to western MD and while in the mountains the code popped up, no speedo and ABS light on. This happened once a couple months ago for a few hours one day then stopped. This time it wont go away =), I limped back over the mountains as I had significant power loss. Put a brand new rear speed sensor in today, cleared code, still throwing code and same problems with speedo and ABS light. Checked visually only at this point for any signs of wear on the wires and the wire, connectors and looms integrity is very good. Any experiance from anyone on where to check next? The toner ring is present in the pumpkin, not broke so thats at ruled out. Any help would be awesome!

Thanks folks.
