hi guys just wanted some input on this situation. the other day i had to slam on the brakes to miss some bi**h and after that my power steering has been acting up at idle and also hard brake application makes the pump groan and whine, when i mashed the brake pedal to miss her is it possible the pump valve got overloaded or did the hydro boost system on the master cylinder fault causing this?

Lets start for the basics. How about the fluids? Did you check the levels? Hydraulic lines?

I don't know what would have caused your particular problem but if the pump is whining it is usually shot unless there is air in the lines. Mine didn't have power steering while parked or sitting still even if I revved up the engine. I replaced my PS pump when I did head gaskets and head studs and not it works like a dream.

LOL!
Forgot about the power steering pump. Like tuscany said make sure the pump is working properly.

Ya the fluid is full and it is atf, no leaks in the system or any damaged lines that i can see, seems like i may have messed up the valve in the pump casue with a little throttle its ok only at idle do i lose powersteering and powerbrakes
