Getting progressively worse driveshaft vibration?
on our 06 F350 diesel longbed extended cab in signature.. It has 80k miles on it now. Seems you "hear" a squeak with each tire rotation "it seems" when accelerating, usually when pulling a heavier trailer b/c your on the gas more and not taking off as fast.
Other than that, it is fine while rolling, as soon as you let off the throttle, it vibrates... weather in neutral, drive, and in any gear, at 40mph, 50mph, 60mph, 75mph... even with tow/haul on, it vibrates while decelerating until your back under 30ish mph. Can we grease the driveshaft? Doesnt appear you can, are the bearings shot? |

By any chance, is there any clunking going on with it also?

yeah.. well it has 80k now almost, at 37k miles it had a "thud/clunk" each time i rolled to a stop, dealer fixed something, greased it or replaced a bearings or something.. still not sure. It almost feels like when your on the gas, fine, let off and feels like the driveshaft has a 1lb magnet stuck to it and vibrates the truck for a bit.. not crazy, but somethings not right.
Any routine maintenance with the drivetrain i should be doing aside from the transmission and engine? |
