Well my rear axle is making some odd noises. It started after i did a brake job. First for a little background, I just did a rear axle brake job. I replaced rotors and pads. The passenger side i had to drill out the caliper slides because they were seized. I used Raybestos parts which I am new to. I was told they are good parts and i had a rebate so i tried them. I looked on the raybestos web site and i seen they also have shims they sell for rotor runnout.
Session Ended That is the link of the parts. I dont know if this has anything to do with the noise i have, but i just wanted to give that background and bit of research i did.
Ok, on to the noise.. It is a rattle noise i hear. I have shaken everything possible and cannot find it. I makes the noise mostly when the rear axle goes over bumps or around corners (primarily when i turn left). With the truck on the ground and i shake the whole truck a noise sounds like its coming from the axle's themselves. I cannot pinpoint weather its coming from the outside of the axle or the inside near carrier. To me it sounds like a c-clip axle that is worn, but i dont think these are c-clip axles. With truck in the air there is no movement of the tire like a c-clip axle would have.
Hopefuly you guys can give me some input. Thanks
