Rear-ended now feels like dragging

I was rear-ended by a 25' Freightliner at 50mph 3 weeks ago. My beloved 2003 F250 suffered - suprisingly minimal damage. The tailgate was down - it wrapped up to a little tin-foil log. The bumper went with the tail-gate. The bed hit the cab. The V-5 hitch bent down the rear of the frame but kept any further damage from protruding forward of itself. The hit lunged me into a vehicle infront of me and did more damage to the front end - mostly stuff under the bumper like the frame the front springs (leaf) are mounted to - bending that, damaging the PS cooler, AC compressor and a few other things. Well - $9000 later and 3 weeks (yesterday) I get my truck back - oh it felt so nice to sit high again!

But driving off - it feels kind of ...like the rear is dragging - maybe its the drivetrain in general. Has plenty of power - no noises or squeaks - but just has that hesitation/drag feel to it - hard to explain. Kind of like having the emergency brake lightly depressed when taking off. In fact, when I first pulled away from the shop - I did exactly that - checked to see if the emergency brake was on - it wasnt. The body shop (good friends and highly aclaimed - well trusted shop and mechanics) said I should take the truck to Ford Service for their insite.

What could be the issue?

Could the drive shaft have gotten bent? Or maybe the tranny got goofed somehow. Those are just off the top of my head.

if they did anything to the rear end, they may have dropped the cover to inspect it. The draggy-ness sounds, (to me) like they refilled it with 75w140 instead of 80w90.

I talked to them - the shop didnt do anything to the rear end. No fluid change - nothing. They checked alignment - that was good.

Here is the link to the accident on Sept. 6. From the last picture - it didnt look too bad - but once you got to looking at the truck close-up - the list of replacement items went on for 1.5 pages.

Was the shop the insurance recommended shop? if so - tell them there is something wrong and they should take care of having the driveline looked at

otherwise - good luck
