Auto 4x4 2006 not working

Ive got a 2006 f-250 with auto hubs and the manual lever on the floor for the 4x4. Here's the problem when the hubs are in the auto position and i pull the lever into 4x4 it dose not engauge, I drove forward like 2000 feet and then backed up like 500 feet still nothing. I throught that when the hubs were in auto and i pulled the lever into 4x4 it would go into. I thought that the auto hubs worked off of vaccume? The 4x4 works great when the hubs are locked in. The truck only has 27,000 on the clock and i just bought it one month ago. Its going to the dealer saturday because of the brakes so, may have some more work for them to do. any info would be great

The vacuum seals could be bad.

one thing I really like about Ford is that you can still manually lock the hubs your self... cause the auto part of it isn't as good in my opion... and sometimes you have to roll a little bit for the 4wd to kick in... not if you just get out of the truck and lock it in your self... but hope you will be able to find out what the problem is and get it fixed....
