Should front driveshaft spin?

Should my front driveshaft spin if the trucks in park? Also if i put it in 4wd the driveshaft turns but it sends no power to the front wheels? Could this be my hubs or my gears in the diff stripped out completely?

In 2wd it should spin in park. If its in 4wd the hubs need to be locked to send power to the wheels.

one hub is probably not locking. It will send 4wd power to the unlocked hub which will do nothing

Are you sure the transfer case is shifting into 4wheel drive?

yes its shifting to 4 wheel. when it does that the driveshaft will spin from the transfer case to the diff on its own but no output to the wheels. i jacked it up and tested this out. i didnt get any strange noises or any binding up. idk wtf is up with it. soon as i get back on land tomorrow im pulling the cover and seeing if i have any teeth left on my ring and pinion.

Gotta be somethin jacked up with a hub then. Chances of completely stripping ring and pinion are VERY small. You'd break an axle shaft or stub axle u-joint before that would ever happen.

Yea my money is on a bad hub. lock the hubs and with your hands try to spin each stub axle within the knuckle and see which one isn't locking
