Exclamation front end help

I am going to need new ball joints soon. What brands do you guys recomend? What are the prices and is it something i could myself ?

I was under the truck the other day and notice i have a problem. What are they and where can i get them?

I also noticed that there are seals on my front axle that have come out. They are where the shaft goes int the axle. Its the same thing on the other side.

should i be worried to much? I checked the gear oil level and its ok. what would be the problem with running it like this?
Sorry for the long post but im going to be replacing my turbo soon and installing a coolant filter and 5 inch turbo back and will be sending my ficm off to get repaired. So i figure i should take care of all of this while im at it.

Sorry for the crappy pics i was using my phone and yes i knows its filthy under there.

Those seals are a joke, I noticed those out when I got my 03 in 06, nothing ever came of it. Well that and I couldn't keep them in.

Ball joints: search you tube, there is a REALLY good how-to video, no blah blah blah talking, just wrenching, watch and learn type stuff. You can save time by taking the axle shaft, bearing and hub out as one unit.

If you don't have access to a 20 ton press, take them to a machine shop and pay them to do it. I installed Moog Problem Solvers from Rock Auto for about $200 total.

Putting them back together can be a challenge, my lowers bound before seated and I had to make a tool to hold the ball joint from spinning while cranking on them with my wrench.

It only took a couple of hours for tear down and reassembly, I can't stress enough to search Super Duty ball joint replacement on You Tube first. I'll try to post a link later, it was mucho helpfull'o.

Those are sway bar links and only come as an assembly. Your corner parts store or Rock Auto will have them.
