2006 Front End Hubs, HELP!
ever since i bought my truck about 14,000km ago my hub locks have been real stubborn/partially seized. Ive always had to use vise grips to engage and disengage them until a couple weeks ago they effed off and the plastic broke. so i took them apart to understand how it operates and what i need replaced and went looking into it. seems no one really makes locking hubs for 05-07 PSD.
THEN! i thought i was saved and found this http://www.drivewire.com/search/?D=r...-Locking%20Hub third hub from the bottom PART #-15001.97 however after a phone call clueless man on the telephone informed me they are for the rear axle only. ??? really? i havent taken a look yet but i dont believe the rear end has locking hubs. am i wrong? will those hubs in the link work as a replacement for my truck (front end)? and if not, anyone know where i can get a set, id rather not buy from ford- this is suposed to be a HEAVY DUTY truck and plastic hubs dont seem very HEAVY DUTY to me ![]() 06 F250 XLT 4x4 6.0 178,XXXkm Last edited by paoness; 01-19-2012 at 10:13 AM. There is only one place that makes a replacement for the stock hub (and changes them over to the manual style hubs) and they run about 1500-2 grand a set.
The stock ones from Ford will be FAR cheaper. Try Tousley Ford, 800-328-9552. |

I am looking for replacement hubs as well. I pulled mine off, cleaned and re-greased them, put back on. While I was putting them back on, with too much grease, the cap with the switch from free to lock broke. The rubber seal is falling off and not sure how long the cap will stay on. The other side is somewhat difficult to operate and cleaning and regreasing didn't help. I want a set that I can just pull ring off, slide on new set and put ring back on.

The original poster has an 06. There are no replacement hubs other than the Ford ones and those exceedingly high priced ones.
Warn does make a set for i think it is 99-04. The front end changed for the 05 model year. If, judging by your name, you have an 03... Get the warn hubs. They are manual locking though. |

Yes, 2003. Will the warn hubs just swap out with the stock hubs?

Yep, they will

Thanks, just been researching and noticed that after 04, they are a pain.

to my understanding Rugged Ridge may have just come out with a set for 05-07 models. 4x4 JEEP/TRUCK LOCKING/LOCK OUT HUBS by RUGGED RIDGE thinking its -- 78-97 F250 Ton w/Dana 60 (New) Part Number is 15001.39 |

You are contradicting yourself. The hubs that you are looking at are for a 1978 - 1997 F-250 (3/4 ton) with Dana 60, part number 15001.39
They will not fit on a Dana 60 installed later than 1997....(EDIT: I read that site a little more, and those hubs fit up to an 04, nothing after 04) If they have come out with a set for the 05-up trucks, I would love to know what part number. I hate those ESOF hubs myself. Last edited by NYC F-350; 01-23-2012 at 10:03 AM. |
