Axle swap questions?????
I have an 03 F250 and the hubs in it are shot. My neighbor has a complete axle out of an 05 f350. I know the axle isnt going to just bolt right in. my Question is will the steering knuckles interchange? I can get the complete axle cheaper than redoing my hubs so hoping they will swap. any insight would be great!

If you are just after the hubs, pull the axle, bearing and hub as an assy and test fit it. Drop the tie-rod end, remove 4 bolts from back side, seperate with a puddy knife at seam (reverse installed rotor and 4 loose nuts work as a slide hammer, too), stuff it in the other axle housing for a test fit. That's how I tore down my axles when I did my ball joints.

Yeah I guess I could just try the hubs and see I was hoping someone knew if it would work instead of going through the guess and check work.

Check the pn on the ball joints for 03 and 05, then a MarkI eyeball check for any obvious differences. In short, I would say they are interchangable.

I'll be check into the ball joins but the knuckles look the same the axle itself looks entirely different its alot bigger.

you likely have a dana 50 vs. a dana 60,,and f350 dually's have different front dana 60 hubs than single wheel.

Isn't the dually adapter part of the rotor that can either be a bolt on or a one piece? I'm not 100% sure if the 03 F250 had a D50 or D60, either way, it shouldn't effect the hubs.

Yeah pretty sure I have a 50 the other axle is completedown to the calipers. So if the steering knuckles interchange the hub itself doesn't matter. It probly wont work like I want it too. But I'm hoping it will

Yes the dually adaptor is removable off the 8 lug pattern as the 3/4 ton wheel. but the thing you need to check is the gearing if you want to swap the entire axle, alot of the 350s have 4.10 gears. I just went through this on a 350 4x2 to 4x4 swap

No I can't swap entire axles but it is the same gears of I could. The 350 axle is set up for coil spring and i've got leafs. I just want to pop the outer pieces off the ball joints and switch them. The entire assembly if possible.
