Reverse to drive enegagment delay

Does anyone know if this is normal sometimes when i back out of my driveway and shift back into drive it seems that it takes a while for the truck to shift back into gear. Didnt know if this was normal or not.

normally it seems their is about a 3-5 second delay but every once in a while seem longer maybe 6-8 seconds may be nothing just thought i would ask thanks

Our '05 Excursions take a couple of seconds at times. It sucks. I'm not saying its normal, I have the same problem.

It shouldn't take but just a second or less. Have you had your tranny serviced because it sounds like a solenoid sticking or has trash in it. I also saw where you were inquiring about the EDGE juice in another thread. That thing WILL increase your tranny problems for sure.
