Transmission is DEAD, need your input/help!
So, last night while driving home from work my transmission decided to give out. It was acting up while i was out for lunch and when i changed the tune back to stock to go home i got about 2 miles down the road and it's toasted. It has delayed engagement in drive and reverse, slips into 3rd, shifts firm from first to second. Now it will only move for about a minute once you start the truck before it decides it doesn't want to move at all.
my question is this, i need to get it running as quickly as possible and i dont want to spend a complete fortune, however i feel this is a perfect opportunity to build the trans. I'm thinking of going with suncoast. I've got a guy locally who builds transmissions for pulling trucks, or i can buy a complete suncoast transmission and me and a few buddies are going to swap them out ourselves.
Who has experience with built 5r110's, who did you go with and why? And what would you do in my place?
