Unknown noise from front end I think.
Hello, please help
When I'm driving I get this noise that starts when I hit about 50 or higher. The noise can be be heard in the driver and passenger window with them down. When I get ready to stop the noise goes away at about 20 to 15mph and by about 5mph I can feel something go bang or something engaging while still moving if I go under 50 no problem so far over 50mph I have got a problem. I had ford replace gear box ,tie rods , drag link due to being no good per state safety lane. |

Could be your front wheel bearings. Cost you $400 a side in just parts not hard to do yourself but if you take it to the dealer be prepared for a bill. Go under your truck and grab the u joint connecting your inner axle shaft to the outter stub shaft. try to move it up and down. If there is play they are toasted. That's one way to tell. Usually you can hear the wheel bearings hum when they are going. I had one side do exactly what you are describing. Good luck.
