Really loud violent bang.....but still driving

I just had my truck studded, new oil cooler, EGR Delete, HDOP system rebuild with updated STC fitting, new IPR, and turbo cleaning with new unison ring. I'm currently running regular SLR tune with some Cetane booster.


First of all I'm having very bad hot start issues(have to spray start fluid to get her going)..

Second, I went caming this weekend and when backing up to put my gear in the bed I was at about a 30-40degree incline and I would give it gas but the truck would go no where(forward or reverse) and had to put it in 4WD to go forward(then went back to 2WD)

Third and main concern is when I was driving it I was VERY gradually going to WOT(building boost) and heard a serious Violent (yanked me and my wife in the cab) BANG under the truck and thought I blew the tranny but when I got to the traffic light I noticed the truck would engage all four gears.

I don't beat on my truck or smoke the tires or anything.......What the hell is going on with my truck??

Driver Side check valve was missing an O-ring..its starts now. Don't have answers for my other concerns

Do you have a good scantool? Any DTC's?

Just have an Insight and an STC for scanning no DTCs

So you think that your tranny is acting up? The insight and SCT will only read Hard codes, not any soft ones. I'm not sure what other units you can use other then AE to read them (other then the dealer). I'm guessing if there is something wrong, your truck knows what it is, or will point you in the right direction. My dealer will check codes for free, maybe you have the same kind of dealer

Well sometimes when I am changing in and out of 4wd, my driveshafts bind and make a very loud violent bang...I don't know if that is the same sort of issue you are having..but it scares the hell out of me thats for sure

Mine has does that a couple of times. Like it was not fully in gear, and BANG jumps into gear. It scared the crap out of me when it happened.

Does it build boost now? When an IC boot blows off it is very loud as well.
