limited slip,

I have a 2006 f250/d. 4X4 . I am having a problem with the left rear not locking up after the right is spinning.

It's the consensus that Ford LS units are junk. I'd go with something like the Detroit/Eaton Truetrac. It's a clutchless limited slip that uses helical cut gears and seems to work very well.

It's normal. Mine has gone through times where it didn't seem to work for several days and then it will work just fine. The factory limited slip is designed to be a little on the weak side. In certain situations, the torque will overpower it.

i had to replace mine. i went with a refurbished one from randys, and there are times where its takes a second to lock in. the old one was toasted, it would not lock in at all. i could get on the grass and one wheel would take off way to easy. on the new one, every now and then 1 will spin on the grass but it takes way more efort for 1 to spin and usually once it makes a turn or 2 the other wheel will go on and lock in
