axle gear ratios....

Does anyone knows how I can determine what my axle gear ratios are 3.55 or 3.73 or 4.11

Look either for a metal tag attached under one of the bolts of the pumpkin on the rear axle or a certification sticker on the driver's side door that should tell you. Look for something like "373" or "373L" or the like. Being that you have a 3/4 ton FX4 I believe it's almost certain you have a limited slip 3.73 to 1, in which case that tag outta say "373L".

Awesome, going out to look right now... Thanks...

Now my follow up question.... Is it worth the effort to change gear ratios to the 3.55 for the sake of fuel mileage. How much difference would it make?

Ok, I didn't see this tag last time I searched for it. I saw he one with the oil spec's and moved on..... Anyway, the tag on the other side has an L73, So I would assume that means I have the 3.73 like you said. Thanks!
