Front End Q's

I noticed my truck has a slight intermittent vibration. I am pretty sure it is the front u-joints. While looking around under the front, I noticed this:

Is this critical? By critical I mean, am I okay to drive like this for a few days before I get in there and rplace those? Both sides are like this. Also, has ayone done this before? I am pretty sure I am going to have to pull the shafts.. Any help is appreciated!

They are the axle dust seals. I had them hanging like that on my 03 the entire time I owned it, with no problems. I think they are there mainly to protect your main seals and bearings inside the diff, so given enough time they could end up causing a problem I guess

Mine look the same, I don't know why, but mine rides smooth as glass on the highway

Could be the roads, or a tire balance issue too. Do you feel it in the steering wheel?

I can feel it in the wheel and the pedals its not really THAT bad (the wife swears I'm insane because she doesn't notice it while riding along) So i'm pretty sure it the u-joints. I'm going to change them this weekend and see what happens!
