I put the trucool 40 cooler on my truck and mounted it to the back side of the front bumper over the hole where the tag and fog lights would go if I had them. I just took the return line from the factory cooler and hooked it to the trucool and then hooked the other end of the trucool back to the line going to the tranny. My cooler came with a piece of hose, clamps and fittings for like $120. It worked great, really dropped my towing temps. I highly recommend it.
A few years later when my tranny finally died at 200,000 miles I had to replace the factory cooler so Ford would honor the warranty on the new tranny, at that time I bought the trucool 40K cooler that is designed to replace the factory one, it was a bit of a pain to install but I now have 2 trucool 40K’s in series and can’t get the tranny over 150 no matter how I abuse it.
